Businesses using the Internet to draw in customers, promote
new products or facilitate e-tailing should be warned that British
consumers are getting more impatient and are less likely to stick
around waiting for a slow website to load.
New research by Cable & Wireless indicates that poor web
site design and lack of high-speed connections are partly to
blame: one in three broadband users claim to be less patient
nowadays.
The survey also revealed men to be less patient than women,
with 46% of male respondents claiming they would stop waiting
for a website to load after three minutes, compared to only 27%
of women.
