Absenteeism rises year-on-year
Businesses are urged to monitor sickness absence more carefully after the results of a recent survey showed absenteeism is climbing year-on-year. The survey, conducted by employment law firm Peninsula, reports that in 2005, 79% of businesses polled said absences were up over the last year, and 81% believe this has cost the business financially.
